Artist Statement
The groundwork of my art stems from my inquiries on who I am and where my origins are. Since birth my identity has been displaced. Living in a nation of many cultures I inquire much about my own, using art and craft as a voice. In this process I have become intrigued with the idea of movement and journeys. I have also become fascinated with the romantic idea of nomadic travel, and the puzzling illusion of the word "home." I create mixed media works of sculpture to help me discover my identity and culture, while celebrating the traveling spirit.
